Anbot, developed by the National Defense University in China, is being described as an 'intelligent security robot'. It stands 1.49 metres high, with a top speed of 11mph. It is armed with what is described as a electric riot-control tool (possibly similar to a taser). It also contains a range of sophisticated sensors and video analysis equipment. There is no information on how it will be used yet, but Chinese authorities have suggested it could be used to counter terrorism or control riots.

What might the implications of this be? What related resources have you seen?
