By Sam Zak / 09 Oct 2018

The world’s leading scientists have warned there are only twelve years left to avoid 1.5°C of warming in a landmark report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It warns of the considerable risks beyond 1.5°C, whereby associated risks of drought, floods, extreme heat and poverty for hundreds of millions of people will be considerably worsened. The report was commissioned by policy makers in 2016 during the Paris climate talks.

Forum for the Future is actively working towards a rapid and just transition to a ‘carbon positive’ economy that limits global warming to 1.5°C and provides to clean energy, mobility and meaningful livelihoods. Read more about our work here.
