Flight delayed to protect turtles

Signal of change / Flight delayed to protect turtles

By Neil Gunn / 02 Aug 2017

A relief flight to Zante in Greece, to fly holidaymakers home, was delayed due to the island's night flying curfew. The curfew is in place to protect the nesting population of loggerhead turtles on the island.

Will we see an increase in restrictions on flight traffic, as well as shipping and other forms of human transport, to protect marine life?
