64 fashion companies sign up to the 2020 Circular Fashion System Commitment

Signal of change / 64 fashion companies sign up to the 2020 Circular Fashion System Commitment

By Ella-Louise Micallef / 20 Feb 2018

At the Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2017, 64 retailers signed up to the 2020 Circular Fashion System Commitment, an agreement designed to accelerate the transition to a circular fashion system. Each company has set their own individual targets using the four action points outlined in the commitment, and must annually report on their progress.

So what?

With fast fashion having been the norm for the past decade, does this commitment show a shift within the industry towards a more sustainable system?

Are we likely to see a rise in brands advocating good quality, ethically produced clothing that is also designed to last?
