¼ of UK dinners are meat and fish-free

Signal of change / ¼ of UK dinners are meat and fish-free

By Shola Powell / 09 Feb 2018

Research shows that more than a quarter of dinners (29%) in the UK in recent months have had no meat or fish. Quorn foods, a Yorkshire-based meat-substitute company, has seen a 16% increase in sales since last year.

So what?

Trends like Veganuary (going vegan for January) and ‘flexitarians’ are on the rise, however so are overall meat sales. Although many households have decreased their intake of beef, they have replaced this meat with chicken and fish.

What might the implications of this be? What related signals of change have you seen?
