Old tyres create fuel for Northland cement plant, as Govt and industry tackles stockpile

New Zealand's ever increasing mound of old tyres is about to be dealt to, with a plan to use old tyres for fuel at one of Fletcher Building's cement plants. The Government has given Fletcher Building a $13.6 million grant towards new technology which will be used at Fletcher's Golden Bay Cement plant in Portland, Northland.
