Indigenous-focused Raven Venture Fund launches Fund II with triple the target size

North America’s only Indigenous-led and owned venture capital Raven Indigenous Capital Partners their second fund has launched with an initial close of $46 million and a target size of $75 million.

The fund “invests in innovative, scalable Indigenous enterprises at the forefront of advancing the well-being of Indigenous Peoples” and works to ensure access to capital.

So what?

While this move allows for more Indigenous-led companies and businesses to grow, it also recognises innovation efforts at the community level and brings these enterprises to the forefront.

Such inclusive and purpose led funds can also disrupt existing economic and social structures and paves the way for “growth” that is focused on healing, community empowerment, and reconciliation rather than immediate profits.
