Robots take over Adidas apparel production

The world’s first large scale shoe robot factory has been unveiled: Adidas will use machines in Germany instead of factory workers in Asia.

Adidas’ Futurecraft 4D was created using digital light synthesis technology, where programmable liquid resin platform uses light to create the shape of the sole, then uses heat to set it, allowing the team to create a print from scratch. The shoe is set to launch later this month.
