Chinese social media app introduces divorce registration feature

People in China can now file for divorce on WeChat, the country’s most popular instant messaging service.

The app, which has an estimated one billion active users worldwide, rolled out a trial function in Guangdong province that allows couples to make an appointment with their local divorce registration office. Following its success it is set to be implemented nationwide.
