Solar-powered cold rooms improve profits for farmers

Farmers in western India are able to store produce at the point of harvest giving them greater control over distribution thanks to solar-powered cold rooms that have been developed by Ecozen.

Produce such as vegetables, fruits and flowers, which have previously been sold immediately, can be kept fresh for longer in the cold rooms. Farmers control the temperature and humidity with a smartphone app and select the best time to sell direct to retailers and at the right price.
