New Zealanders have expressed an unprecedented level of support for a carbon neutral economy by 2050 in the country’s public consultation on the Zero Carbon Bill. The climate change minister James Shaw has stated that the 10,000 responses received from individuals, NGO’s and businesses are 20 times more the usual number expected. The submissions have now been anaylsed and officials are now preparing the bill for its first reading in parliament.
