Businesses rapidly repurpose as normal consumption patterns slump and demand for medical supplies spikes

by Futures Centre, Mar 25
1 minute read

Businesses are switching production to assist in the Covid-19 response effort – perfume house LVMH has switched to hand sanitiser production, Diageo is donating alcohol stocks, fashion brands like Hedley & Bennett and Christian Siriano are switching to mask production, and specialist engineers like RollsRoyce are being called on to switch to ventilator production.

So what?

While not all these switches may end up being successful, the agility being developed is likely to be a critical ongoing feature of successful businesses in a future post-Covid crisis world, where we will still need to effect a rapid zero carbon transition and deal with ongoing climate-related shocks.
