Asda has become the latest supermarket to announce commitments to cut plastic, including reducing the amount of plastic in its own-brand packaging by 10%, and removing all 5p carrier bags from its stores over the next 12 months. They have also promised to switch the plastic straws currently used in their cafes to paper, as well as introducing reusable cups in its shops and cafes by the end of 2019.
