2020 was a record-breaking year for climate-tech startup investment, according to Bloomberg NEF. `Climate tech’ is their label for technologies addressing the climate crisis, targeting both mitigation and adaptation. This includes clean energy, transport and new mobility, ag tech, carbon capture and technologies for mapping carbon sinks/forests. The majority of this investment was in late-stage startups, with a skew towards transport and new mobility. The US and China stood out as the major hubs of investment.
