GE Renewable Energy plans to invest over $400 million (USD) over the next three to five years in order to deploy the largest and most powerful offshore wind turbine – the Haliade-X 12 MW. Designed and manufactured by LM Wind Power, the Haliade-X 12 will stand 260 meters above the sea, carry a 220-meter rotor, with 107-meter-long blades. GE Renewable Energy aims to supply its first nacelle for demonstration in 2019 and complete the first units in 2021.
