A Germany v Denmark match was stopped due to torrential rain, with hail falling the size of golf balls, whilst a referee collapsed in a Copa America match due to extreme heat.

So what?

What does this mean for how the sporting industry engage climate change and commitments? And how they adjust future events, such as the Olympics, if business as usual isn’t possible?

Extreme weather such as high temperatures might cause a shift in where sporting events take place, what time of day and maybe even the duration of them.
