Hoping to take the Pinch Out of Warming Waters, Crab Fishermen Sue Big Oil

California crab fishermen have filed suit in the state superior ourt against fossil fuel companies for their contribution to global warming and the negative impact that has had on the California crab fishery. The filing represents “the first legal action by a private industry group seeking to hold the fossil fuel companies responsible for major losses attributed to global warming.” The plaintiffs are seeking unspecified damages from 30 companies including Chevron, ExxonMobil and BP.
