The world’s largest furniture retailer, IKEA, has pledged to design products that are made from only materials that are renewable or recyclable by 2030. This is an ambitious target for a company that is already committed to a number of sustainability targets and which uses renewable energy for 73% of its operations. In order to achieve this goal, circular and sustainability principles will need to be applied in the entirety of the product design process, following which it will be possible to repair, reuse, recycle and resell any product made.
