Is Rajasthan just years away from seeing its last camel?

The policy recognizing camel as the state animal of Rajasthan did not help in increasing the population of the animal as economic incentives were not right. This made camel rearing unsustainable in Rajasthan and led to the dwindling population of the state animal.

So what?

The policies should be made bottom up to achieve the objective. A positive change would be in reimagining the role of animals in economy.
