Nike releases its new sportswear for female Muslim athletes

by Futures Centre, Mar 22
1 minute read

The global sportswear giant Nike has unveiled a performance hijab made from breathable and lightweight fabrics designed for female Muslim athletes. The new garment is expected to be welcomed by women who have been competing in sporting events wearing hijabs made from traditional fabrics which suffer from a lack of breathability, weight and the potential to shift during action. Nike tackles these problems by making their hijabs out of a breathable and lightweight polyester fabric that is stretchy and adjustable, allowing the athlete to adapt the garment to fit their head and their sport. The company plans to relase the product in spring 2018.
