A new paper in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, authored by Professor Brian Vas Mathiesen and colleagues, has debunked the myths used against the feasibility of 100% renewable energy. The team analysed hundreds of studies throughout the scientific literature to address each of the apparent issues supposedly affecting the viability of fully renewable future, before concluding that it was possible.
Prof Mathiesen is a Danish engineer and professor at Aalborg University. He was listed among ISI Highly Cited researchers in 2015 and 2016, making him one of the leading engineers in the world.
The paper was written largely in response to a review paper published last year, by Benjamin Heard and colleagues who presented their case against a 100% renewable energy future in the same journal.
