US plant-based “meat” sales increase by 24%

Data from the global data and information company Nielson has shown that plant-based meat sales in the United States have increased by 24% over the last 12 months, topping $670 million in sales.

The findings, which were commissioned by the Plant Based Foods Association show increasing consumer interest in vegan alternatives to traditional foods. They also reflect overall trends in the plant-based foods industry which has experienced a 20 percent dollar sales growth over the last year, with sales topping $3.3 billion.
