Walmart has recently acquired Spatialand, a virtual reality startup, as part of its ongoing strategy to develop technology in order to reshape the shopping experience both in stores and online. Spatialand is working with Walmart’s Silicon Valley-based tech incubator, Store No. 8, to develop more effective retail technology for the next decade. Spatialand creates software to transform already created content into an immersive retail experience.
